At the Center for Arthritis and Rheumatic Diseases, our goal is to significantly improve the lives of people with autoimmune and inflammatory diseases. We are fortunate to live in an era where we can significantly improve the lives of our patients with rheumatologic diseases. They can have a longer survival rate and a better quality of life. The field of rheumatology has seen major progress and evolution in the last 20 years, bringing multiple new treatment options. At the Center for Arthritis and Rheumatic Diseases, we are ready to bring all these advances to you.                        

We recognize that each patient is unique, and we continuously strive to provide you with individualized and compassionate care. Dr. Shujaat believes in holistic care and treating patients as a whole person. She believes in proper nutrition and physical activity are the keys to helping patients heal. We look at each patient as a whole person – physically, emotionally and spiritually. Our practice philosophy is to use various methods to help patients with nutrition, activity, meditation, and prescription medications when necessary.

Dr. Shujaat is an excellent listener and extremely compassionate. She will take as much time needed to Listen carefully, make the diagnosis and make your individualized treatment plan. With her extensive background in Nutrition, Dr. Shujaat helps patients eat right and choose the best exercise for their condition.
Dr. Shujaat was awarded the “Best Doctors” award by the D Magazine for the years 2020, 2021 and 2023.

About Dr. Shujaat

Dr. Huma Shujaat is double board-certified in Internal Medicine and Rheumatology. She started her education at Wayne State University where she completed a bachelor’s degree in Nutrition and Food Science. She then completed her Medical education at Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine. She completed an Internal Medicine residency at Henry Ford Hospital. She further pursued Rheumatology fellowship training at NOVA southeastern University in South Florida.
In her free time, Dr. Shujaat enjoys reading, cooking, biking and spending time with her family
